Apple is so great at launching a product. Everyone in the world has already said that so let me just add some detail to that claim. I love that they think of details like this where you can prepurchase your software and it will arrive at your house the same day it shows up in stores and the shipping is free. Most companies would ship it the same day that you can buy it and charge you for the shipping so instead of giving you an inventive to preorder instead they reward you for waiting. The bad thing about waiting is if you purchase through a channel partner then your profit margin decreases. See most companies would make this decision based on not wanting to give away that much in shipping. Apple makes the decision to embrace it’s passionate following and easily make up in margin what it loses in shipping. |
